Profile

Eric has developed an active practice in both civil and criminal matters, with a particular specialisation in medico-legal cases. He regularly appears in all levels of court both as a led junior and as a sole advocate representing both plaintiffs and defendants.

On the civil side, Eric is regularly instructed to conduct proceedings involving medical negligence, disaster category cases and complex industrial accidents. Most notably, he was led by two Senior Counsel in a case involving relocation of a claimant with dystonic cerebral palsy at birth, which comprised of experts across 16 disciplines and highly complicated issues of life expectancy based on Strauss data and contested application between Chan and Ogden Tables.

On the criminal side, he was blessed with the opportunity to be led in multiple criminal appeals to the Court of First Instance, the Court of Appeal and the Court of Final Appeal. He also participated as a led junior handling examination of various witnesses in a 120-day trial, the case of which involved gross negligence manslaughter in the context of clinical treatment, the backlash of the DR CIK Beauty Treatment Incident.
